Martin visited the team at Fairfield College working on the Fairfield Project and Environment Centre.
- Martin with Fairfield Rotary’s Graeme Kitto who showed Martin around the Fairfield Project and Fairfield Environment Centre that will focus on ecological and environmental education and sustainable living on land at the back of Fairfield College. Long-term restoration of the gully is central to the project, which embraces a part of the grounds that the school doesn’t use.
Martin went along to the Waikato Show at Claudelands where he met electric vehicle enthusiasts and the team manning the Waikato Multicultural Council stand.
Martin met with the Arts Council to talk about how Council can support the creative arts in our communities and caught up with Dame Winnie Laban, the first Pacifc Island MP in Parliament and a former colleague of Martin’s.
Martin caught up with Meleane Burgess who has recently announced that she will stand for Hamilton City Council in the local body elections later this year.
Hamilton City Council held an open day in April for the community to come along to hear all about the Peacocke and southwest Hamilton developments.
